1) Who we are & scope
Shige'sHome (“we,” “us,” “our”) is a sole proprietorship (DBA) owned and operated by Shigehiro Neil Suzuki, operating shigeshome.com (the “Site”) from Los Angeles, California. This Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, how we share it, and your choices. It covers visitors, customers, and inquiries made through the Site.

-
Sensitive Personal Information (SPI): certain data that needs extra care (e.g., payment card details, precise geolocation, government IDs, health/biometric data). We do not collect government IDs, health, or biometrics via the Site. Payment data is handled by Stripe.
3) Applicability notes (California & others)
-
California (CCPA/CPRA): As of the Effective Date, we do not believe we meet the thresholds to be a “Business.” Even so, we voluntarily adopt core rights (know, delete, correct, opt-out, SPI limits as applicable). If our status changes, we will update this Policy.
-
CalOPPA / Shine the Light: We provide required disclosures; we do not share PI for third-party direct marketing.
-
US federal: COPPA: site not for <13; CAN-SPAM: marketing emails include an unsubscribe.

4) What we collect
From you (forms/communications): name, email, phone, message content, booking/project details.
Payments (via Stripe): Stripe collects your card data directly; we receive transaction metadata (name, email, last4, amount, time).
Automatically (cookies/analytics): IP address, device/browser, pages viewed, timestamps, referrers, approximate city/region.
We do not collect government IDs, protected class data, precise GPS, or biometrics via the Site. We do not knowingly collect PI from children <13.
5) How we collect
-
Direct: contact/booking forms, phone or other communications.
-
Automatic: cookies, pixels, and logs (see Cookies & Tracking).

6) Why we use PI (purposes)
-
Provide and improve the Site and services.

Communicate about inquiries, quotes, bookings, and support.
-
Process payments and keep lawful records.

Security, fraud prevention, and legal compliance.
We do not use PI for unrelated purposes without notice or consent when required.
7) Cookies & Tracking (and your choices)
Types:
-

Your choices: manage cookies in your browser; use Google’s Analytics opt-out add-on.
“Do Not Sell/Share” link: [Do Not Sell/Share]
Cookie preferences: [Cookie Settings]
Global Privacy Control (GPC): If your browser sends a GPC signal, we treat it as an opt-out of sale/sharing for that browser. For details, see Section 10 and Section 12.
We do not run third-party advertising on the Site. We treat Google Analytics as a service provider and do not use it for cross-site ads.
8) How we share PI
We do not sell PI. We do not share PI for cross-context behavioral advertising. We disclose PI only:
-
Service providers/processors: hosting/email, Stripe (payments), Google Analytics (analytics), cloud storage/backup. They must use PI only for us and protect it.
-
Legal/safety: to comply with law, protect rights, or respond to lawful requests.
-
Business transfers: in a merger/sale, the successor must honor this Policy.
-
At your direction/with consent.

No discrimination: we will not treat you differently for exercising rights.
10) How to exercise your rights

-
Under 16 (CA): we do not sell/share PI; if that ever changed, we would require explicit opt-in first.
12) Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards (HTTPS, access limits, strong auth, backups).
No method is perfect. We cannot promise or guarantee absolute security.
13) International transfers
We operate in the United States. If you visit from abroad, your PI will be processed in the U.S. We rely on appropriate measures (e.g., provider SCCs, consent, contractual necessity) where applicable.
14) Retention
We keep PI only as long as needed for the purposes above and to meet legal duties. Examples: inquiry emails (about 1–2 years), GA analytics (per account setting), transaction records (about 7 years). We delete or de-identify PI when no longer needed.
15) Third-party links
External sites (e.g., Instagram, YouTube, Stripe) have their own privacy practices. Our Policy does not cover them. Please review their policies.
